Dr. Patel specializes in naturally aesthetic dental implant restorations. But what are they? Each implant consists of a titanium post that is set into the jawbone to act as a tooth root. We top each restoration with a crown crafted from high quality ceramic. This means it will perfectly match the aesthetics of your surrounding teeth.
Dental implants are one of the most ideal permanent tooth replacement options. This is because, with proper care, a dental implant can last your entire lifetime. The post will naturally fuse with your jawbone and create a strong anchor for your single tooth restoration. Essentially, it will look and feel completely indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
Dental implants are also used to permanently fix dentures or bridges in place. This eliminates the need for adhesives and bulky palates and restores the natural chewing force of your jaw.
Dental implants are not simply cosmetic. This is because complications from missing teeth go far beyond appearance.
Simply, people with missing teeth are more susceptible to bone loss. When chewing, the pressure on teeth helps stimulate the jaw, helping keep it healthy. When teeth are missing, that stimulation goes away, and the jaw bone begins to atrophy – deteriorate from lack of use. This lack of bone structure further limits your chewing ability and contributes to a sagging lower face. This means your face will appear to prematurely age.
Additionally, missing teeth are more likely to cause other oral health problems, including disease and decay. Among other causes, this can occur when surrounding teeth shift to fill in the gaps. The shifting makes it easier for food and other bacteria to get lodged between teeth.
Properly replacing a missing tooth can very easily prevent these complications.
Dr. Patel has eliminated the need for an outside lab. He has the expertise and technology to design and place your implant restoration in-house in as little as one day. You no longer need to see multiple specialists to complete your dental restoration. We trained our expert staff to provide your entire treatment from start to finish.
Dr. Patel travels around the globe, teaching other dentists how to use the latest techniques in their own practices. He is more than just a dentist, he is a leading dental educator.
Digital precision allows for minimal pain, faster and more accurate surgery, and shorter recovery times. To ensure the most accurate placement of your implants, Dr. Patel utilizes state-of-the-art dental technologies from our in-house dental laboratory.
We begin by taking 3-D digital x-rays of your mouth. These can display both hard and soft tissue, providing a clearer view of the treatment area. Next, Dr. Patel creates a computer simulation of the dental procedure to perfectly plan your surgery.
Afterward, we create a surgical guide from the precise computer data from our scans. The guide serves multiple functions. Mainly, it ensures we place the implant at the ideal angle and depth during surgery.
Meanwhile, we simultaneously mill your dental crowns in-house as we work on your implant. This allows us to complete your tooth replacement procedure in one visit.
Implants may fail due to poor dental hygiene, tobacco use, systemic disease, or poor implant placement.
Contact us right away if your dental implants are failing or causing you pain or peri-implant disease. To clarify, peri-implant disease is an inflammation of the gums surrounding the implant. The sooner you see us, the less damage will occur and the sooner we can relieve your pain.
We have the experience needed to reduce your pain and safely remove and replace your implants. We can also give professional instruction to help ensure your implants last a lifetime.
Call us at 740.881.2600 or use this form to schedule today. We will contact you soon to schedule your consultation for a time that is convenient for you!
