Migraine & headache solutions

If you suffer from chronic migraines and headaches with no clear diagnosis, Dr. Patel may be able to help. We can determine whether your pain originates from dental issues and provide you with premier migraine and headache solutions.

What is causing your migraines?

Grinding or clenching your teeth regularly will often lead to frequent headaches or migraines. You may grind or clench your teeth while you sleep or as a reaction to stress during the day.

This chronic grinding or clenching of your teeth is a condition called bruxism. Bruxism can lead to severe pain in the jaw and facial muscles, often called TMJ pain.

Another dental cause of persistent headaches is malocclusion, or bad bite. This can cause stress on your jaw that in turn can contribute to headaches.

Getting to the root of your problem

Using our state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, Dr. Patel can get an incredibly detailed look at your facial structure. This includes how the position of your jaw is affecting your bite, and thus what is triggering your headaches.

This is important, because having a misaligned jaw and bite can wear down your teeth and even destroy restorations. Our diagnostic tools can even find the most ideal spot for your jaw muscles and joints to rest. These subsequently serve as a guide for your treatment.

Custom biteguard headache solutions

Intense teeth grinding or clenching can cause additional, unforeseen damage. So it is important to find a helpful solution.

If you suffer from frequent headaches, you may find relief with a biteguard. A biteguard is also known as a nightguard because they are frequently worn at night. It is a custom oral appliance that prevents bruxism while repositioning your jaw.

Our appliance is made of clear acrylic resin and custom fit for your teeth. Your biteguard will prevent your upper and lower back teeth from clenching and grinding together to produce headaches.

Migraine treatment with Botox®

Botox® injections can also treat chronic headaches and migraines. In general, Botox® is a method to cosmetically improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It can also help reduce headaches and eliminate pain by relaxing the muscles associated with frequent headaches.

Our highly trained professionals can offer relief. Dr. Patel provides safe, FDA-approved Botox® injections for headache and facial pain relief. If you need chronic headache and migraine pain relief, Infinite Smiles can help.
